Packing a home or apartment takes longer than most people think, so we advise to start early. If you have to maneuver around a few boxes until moving day, that's a much better situation than not completing the packing until moving day. This can add time onto your move and in the end cost you money and headaches. Try to give yourself 1-2 weeks to get everything packed and ready. 

You will want to estimate what supplies you’ll need by tallying how many boxes per cabinet, how many boxes per closet and how many boxes per dresser. You can somewhat visualize this based on how full your cabinet is and what size box you’ll need to put everything from the cabinet in. Also remember to order packing materials for your TV’s and computer monitors. Lastly, you will want to have some paper packing and bubble packing to protect your fragile items. 

Start first with packing your non-essentials such as books, knickknacks, small pictures frames, and anything you don’t need to see for the next two weeks or so. We also suggest packing your seasonal clothes such as winter gear if it’s already summer. Have all these items staged out of the way as these staging areas should continue to grow over time.
